Mike Meaghers comes to Total Comfort Weatherization with a wealth of experience garnered from owning and operating a local construction company for 30 years. During this time he specialized in energy-efficient residential construction and remodeling projects. Mike is one of the first ten Certified Master Builders in Oregon, a certified National Builders Institute graduate, and a recipient of the Oregon Builder of the Year award. Mike also is a past-president of both the Marion-Polk Home Builders Association and the Oregon Building Industry Association. Throughout his years in construction, Mike has been instrumental in fine-tuning and teaching practical energy-conserving building techniques to various trade groups, and has been officially recognized for his work in this field. Mike has been active in his community by serving on the Board of Directors of Barrier-Free Housing, Inc., a group providing innovative housing for disabled adults, and Salem Habitat for Humanity, a nationally-affiliated group constructing homes for low-income families. He has also served throughout the years on a number of City of Salem committees, advising the City Council on residential and industrial land inventories, lot size, identification of landslide hazard areas, and a selection of projects for Housing & Community Development funding. Mike's hobbies include jewelry-making, gardening, and RVing.
